One Peice at a Time
Dear Parents, Students, School Districts, Citizens
TEAAM is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of
active and committed volunteers who promote positive public awareness,
acceptance, and inclusion of all individuals with an Autism Spectrum
Disorder in Mississippi. April is National Autism Awareness
Month and the puzzle piece is the universal symbol for autism.
It represents the mystery and complexity of the disorder.
In preparation for our Annual Walk for Autism we are asking schools
and citizens all over Mississippi to TEAAM up with us to solve
the puzzle of Autism One Piece at a Time. In
past years we have been fortunate enough to have schools, businesses
and private citizens participate in this very important event.
For the next few weeks paper puzzle pieces will be available for $1 each. These puzzle pieces will have a space for a name and will be displayed at your child’s school. Parents and others can also send additional donations in the form of cash or checks payable to TEAAM.
Thanks to your donations, TEAAM will be able to continue providing important services such as:
- Kamp Kaleidoscope (Mississippi’s only summer camp for
children with Autism)
- Training on Autism
- New-Parent Resource Kits
- Public Awareness Campaign
- TEAAM Chapter and Support Group Assistance
- And many other events
The Walk for Autism will be held at Winner’s
Circle Park in Flowood, Mississippi. It will be an exciting
and fun-filled day including family activities such as train rides,
space jumps, face painting, door prizes, and much more.
We’d love to have you join us! If you are interested
in participating in this wonderful campaign, please contact the
TEAAM office and we will be happy to send you as many puzzle pieces
as you would like.
On behalf of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder in Mississippi and TEAAM, we thank you in advance for your participation.
