The
STAR Award is given for outstanding Servicing, Teaching, Advocating
and Resourcing (STAR).
It recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed
to the education of persons with Autism as evidenced by personal
dedication, commitment and unique service.

This
award is presented to an individual, group or organization that
demonstrates outstanding teamwork, collaboration and cooperation
in promoting best practice strategies, linking of resources and
supports for persons with Autism and their families, service providers
and/or agencies.
Spirit
of Family Award
2007
Recipient
Anissa Brasher
This
award is given to a family member(s), who is a leader and inspiration
to other families and who has demonstrated a strong commitment
towards assisting and empowering individuals with Autism and their
families.
Champion
Award
2007
Recipient
Clay Gautier
This
award recognizes an individual with Autism who has made significant
progress in achieving their goals and serves as an example and
inspiration to others.
Nomination
Process
Nominations should include the following information: Name of
nominee, mailing address, phone number, place of employment and
position (if applicable). The same information should be provided
for the person submitting the nomination. Please include e-mail
address if available.
The
nomination description should be no longer than one 8.5”
x 11” single-spaced page. The description should include
evidence of the following:
Uniqueness
of service, contributions and influence
Involvement in the many aspects of initiating,
Implementing and improving quality programs for persons with Autism
Personal commitment and dedication
